Patrons Council
The McMichael Patrons Council represents the key benefactors of the gallery’s annual giving program. Patrons make an annual contribution of $1,000 or more.
In appreciation, they are invited to participate in an exclusive program designed to bring them closer to McMichael, its collection and its staff.
Children’s educational programs, exhibition programming and art restoration are all made possible because of the generous support of passionate people like our Patrons.
What Are the Benefits of Becoming a Patron?
As a member of this important group of supporters, you are in the company of other art lovers, collectors and patrons who are interested in the preservation and ongoing appreciation of Canadian art and heritage.
You receive the full benefits of a McMichael membership, plus special opportunities to get involved in the museum through special events, sneak peeks at new exhibitions, members-only access to our facilities and chances to meet gallery staff, artists and other patrons.
Levels of Participation
Member ($1,000 - $2,499)
privileges include:
- Free admission and parking all year round
- 10 guest passes
- Discounts in the Gallery Shop and e-shop, and on programs and lectures
- Invitations for you and your guest to McMichael events including: members-only exhibition previews and openings, “Behind the Scenes” tours and other exclusive events
- An invitation for you and your guest to an exclusive annual Patrons Council event
- A subscription to Sketches, the McMichael newsletter
- Acknowledgment in Sketches, on the McMichael Donor Board and in the Annual Report
- Reciprocal admission privileges in many galleries and museums across North America. View list.
- A tax receipt for the gift portion of your membership
Patron ($2,500 - $4,999)
members receive all privileges accorded to McMichael Patrons Council Members plus:
- 5 additional guest passes (total of 15)
- Complimentary mailing of McMichael Annual Report
- A "Behind the Scenes at the McMichael" private tour for you and your guest
- 25% discount on gallery meeting and entertaining facilities for your private functions
Champion ($5,000 to $7,499)
members receive all privileges accorded to McMichael Patrons Council Patrons plus:
- 5 additional guest passes (total of 20)
- Invitation to meet with the Chair of the McMichael Board of Trustees and the Executive Director and CEO of the McMichael for a private gathering
- A hosted private Special Exhibition tour
- A 50% discount on gallery meeting and entertaining facilities for your private functions
Director ($7,500 to $9,999)
members receive all privileges accorded to McMichael Patrons Council Champions plus:
- 5 additional guest passes (total of 25)
- 75% discount on gallery meeting and entertaining facilities for your private functions
- Complimentary memorial tree or bench on the McMichael grounds in memory of a loved one
Benefactor ($10,000 +)
members receive all privileges accorded to McMichael Patrons Council Director/President plus:
- 5 additional guest passes (total of 30)
- Complimentary gallery meeting and entertaining facilities for a private function
- Naming and/or sponsorship opportunities
